Podcast Project FUNDED! :) New camera, Party supplies

Woohoo!!!  DonorsChoose.org has just funded a Digitally Enhanced Learning Event! We now need to plan a PODCAST PARTY for February 2011 using the new camera, our love of reading, and food :)

During the Party - we will need to create and film at least 10 podcasts to upload to the web, so students can view your "commercials" about a book you've chosen. \

I can't wait!!!

Post Party we will need to sit down and write letters - just like we did with the Library Club Corner that y'all use so much :)

So my first period Student Aide came in and told me he dreamed of ISBNs last night! (He's been working on transcribing catalog information from obscure modern art books and pamphlets!).   I just loved that he 1) dreamed of cataloging and 2) it wasn't a scary dream!!!

Twilight A Better Story

Twilight Is One Of The Worst Books of All Time. I Have Read Newspaper Better Than That. If Edward And Dracula Had Fight a Battle Dracula Would Win The Battle. And All Bella Would Do Is Go In Her Room And Cries Like A Baby Blue Bird.'' Weh Weh I Lost Edward To A Fight. And By The Way If Jacob went toe to toe with Van Helsing he would lose bad then poor little Bella would cry and cry over the died of her to friends. If Bella Tries To Get The Vampires Of Spain Dracula would have alright have took it over. Dracula In the End Would Kill Bella And Everyone she knows. That would be the end of the twilight series and everyone would be in world peace. And By The Way Dracula would recruit The New Breed And Thay would ahve army's and army's of vampires across the world.

sigh....wake up early!

Dudes and dude-eds, we have an afterschool meeting on Wednesday. If you losers don't show up we are goiong to have problems......Anyways, frieldtrip coming up soon which yea, you will have to wake up really early for. 5:30 a.m. Make the effort and don't slack.
We must also make posters to advertise the club because we need more people. By the way, if you guys don't start blogging any time soon than we will have more discussions about it and i know that you guys don't want that coming from me.

I received an e-mail from a local group doing a gig on Saturday October 17th. IF we can get 20 volunteers to help them from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. - they will hook us up with some funding!

Y'all in?  It means we would have to leave the school around 4:45 a.m.!

So worth it though!

Hey everyone, awesome new two first weeks of school it was been (for some of us). Anyways, we have a meeting on Wednesday during lunch and after school so come because we have a lot plans to make. Also, we have a few decisions to make too, but no worries, everything is going to be awesome. So, since my friend here is really, really hyper I'm signing off.
PS: when your friend is laughing out loud, make sure that they spill juice from their nose if they are drinking. I failed...so yeah.

Meetings, Fundraiser, Fieldtrips!

All that fun stuff! Okay - so here's the skinny:

Yup - we're having a 'stop-by' meeting after you eat lunch on Thursday - I know most of ya have B lunch - so it should be almost the whole crowd......It's to touch base on the fundraiser....hopefully we raised enough to do the Borders book-buying trip! :) Woohoo!!!

Okay - and Friday - you MUST bring your packet, all your orders, and all the money you've collected! I *MUST* have it before 2nd period (but b4 school is even better) so I can deposit itand get the funds to Avon.

Okay, so i have absoluetly no idea how to post the blog that i wanted on the book that i wanted to randomly say something about. :( But, i will just blog about how come no one's buying?
Okay, so a few people have. And i know exactly who the person that already sold $100 is (i didn't attend the meeting on Tuesday so i no one informed who had won the 5 bucks, but it's cool, i know who without thinking too much because the person gloated the whole week). Jk. Sort of.
Anyways, hopefully the fundraiser will turn out great because i am really wishing for new books (and a fresh chocolate moca!)

New Library Club Meetings!

Okay, so due to the hectic schedule most of us have had, a lot of the meetings have been jumbled up and we havent' gotten anything done. Well, that has to stop. The meetings are now regular, which means that every memeber has to show up whenever they can so we can get things together.

New plans like fieldtrips have been talked about and new ideas for fundraisers have been taken into consideration. But considering our lack of meetings, there's not much that we got going on.

But it's cool.

Hey Club! Am so excited about the cool stuff going on! I went to a Google release session and guess what? They've created a "build your  OWN  template" for blogspot! Woohoo! Am looking forward to learning it with you. Right now, am headed over to a session called "what kids with flamethrowers can tell us" - um, well - it sounds good! Will let you know.

Hope you're all enjoying your break and resting up for the big TAKS event next month - and reading a lot of course! I'm in the middle of an awesome SCI-FI by Richard somebody - it's called Altered Carbon - will let you know if I still like it by the end.

Hope y'all don't mind that I've been using your blogspot - and THANK YOU EMM for posting so much! I do think you're going to be the winner of our $25 i-Tunes gift card!  YIPPEEE. Will be awarded mid-May with a big ceremony of course.

New Plans!

So, as you very well know, we have had a few.........setbacks. But now that the new sememester has begun, we need to start making NEW PLANS! Mostly, we need to figure out what we are doing next, like planning fieltrips or starting to chat on our books while library meetings. Not only that, but we need to recruit new people because we are running low on members. Hey, IT'S A CLUB, so we need more students to join up. Which means, SPREAD THE WORD.

Oh, before i forget, it is essential for EVERY member to assit the new meeting on Tuesday the 23. Very importante news will be delievered that i believe (quite strongly) that most of you will want to listen to.

And give Ms. Ash a break people, she's doing a lot of stuff at the same time (which isn't good for any of us..hehe...just kidding Ms. Ash). Anyways, lay off and let her do her work.

And i guess that's it.

Blogs, Chips & Cookies!

Good Morning! I won't be in today - but I know y'all are having a library club meeting after school - so - I left you a bag of chips (HUGE!) and some oatmeal/raisin cookies! :) Of course, I also know you've read some of the library club books - so start talking about them!

I like the way your president wrote about the book she read - it didn't give too much away but maybe got you interested! I think if we click on the book titles to blog - that's where we could "really" talk about the book and maybe give away endings or not worry about saying something to someone who hasn't finished it.

Remember: blog appropriately! And I can't wait to discuss Alexie Sherman's book with someone...I have oodles of questions!

Ola people! How are you all, hope you had a great Valentine's Day!

Anyways, i just wanted to tell you guys to blog because YOU HAVE TO! Just kidding, but please blog guys, these books are important so do me and Ms. Ash a favor and do it.

So, in that subject, i'm going to blog about one of the books belonging to the ones we got.

Once Dead, Twice Shy by Kim Harrison. It was a good book. Madison, the main character, has a great potential of being your next favorite character in book. 

Although, you will get a bit confused because the story is basically a continuing of Kim Harrison's short story: Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper in the collection of short stories Prom Nights From Hell. In Once Dead, Twice Shy, Madison Avery, a girl whose been bead killed by a reaper in the day of her prom, and has to maintain her soul by hanging on onto a pendant which she stole from the reaper that killed her, otherwise she will be truly be dead. But even though she has a (really hot) guardian angel and her (cute) chrush by her side, she just can't help getting into trouble or trying to get killed.  

I have read her past works however, and i think this book wasn't as interesting as the others she's written but i do have high hopes for this book.

And that's all i am going to say. Pick up the book as soon as you can and blog about it!

Sorry I missed ya! :) Got double-booked into meeting fun.....um, ok, so it's not real fun - but I can't miss this one.

Have fun without me - but get some stuff done too! Jenny's got my updates, and I blogged about the books I'd read (TY BLOG-MASTER for adding those! See Jenny or me for a list of the rest - there's seven books altogether). Way cool job getting it to work like that with links - you rule and I need training on setting up blogs....
