Manor High School’s Library Club Constitution
Preamble: we the members of library club are here together to expand our imagination to a new horizon in which we can express
ourselves freely through literature, share knowledge, and develop new ideas.
A) Purpose
1. Read books to enhance our vocabulary and learn new reading skills that may benefit us in future exams.
2. Discuss Books to expand our point of view.
3. Support and Participate in library events.
4. Turn peers onto different forms and genres of literature.
B) Membership
Each and every member of the library club must do and follow these essentials requirements:
1. Fill out a required infimormation sheet incase of imergencies.
2. They nust attend Manor High School as full-time student.
5. They must assist every meeting unless and emergency has come up for they will be excused.
7. Participate in groups or/and discussions as well as library events.
8. Read what is selected as a group.
9. Most of importantly, members are to keep their grades to at least a B.
C) Officers
Officers of the Library Club have to meet the goal of their jobs in order to remein in thier elected positions. They
must:
1. Attend every meeting unless something such as an emergency is the cause for their absence for which it will be dismissed.
2. Every officer must come prepared for the meetings.
3. Maintain grades to a B.
4. Make a good example for other memebers of the Library Club to follow.
5. Help organize Library Club activities.
D) Officer Positons
1. President
a) Has to keep up with all the information concerning Library Club meetings and or events.
b) Must have say in everything wether to approve or disaprove.
c) Is obligated to come to every Library Club function.
d) Has authority to call upon an extra meeting if needed.
e) Cunsolt with other memebers before going through with any plans for the Library Club.
f) Must hold order throughout the meetings and make sure no problems arise among Library Club memebers.
2. Vice-President
a) Must take roll at every meeting.
b) Has help to maintain order in the Library Club.
c) Be attentive of all the imformation concerning Library Club activities.
d) Has to check in with club President for any updates.
3. Secretary
a) Has to be aware of any new things concerning the Library Club.
b) Must take notes in every meeting.
c) Come prepared at each meeting.
d) Consult with Vice-presiden't and President about new improvements or ideas for the club.
f) Must keep track of notes or any other important papers of the club.
4. Treasurer
a) Has to be present at every meeting.
b) Will keep records of meetings.
c) Will help Secretary with notes and/or other documents that is of high priority to the Club.
d) Will see to it that funding and/or fundraiser money is in check.
E) Removal: Removal from the Library Club of any memeber including officers will be done if they have:
1. Failed to show up at any meetings.
2. Recieved a refral.
3. Recieved more than 5 detetions in one semester.
4. Has been put into M.A.P.
5. Refused to follow any of the Library Club's rules.
6. Abused any "perk" given by the Library Club.
7. Caused any trouble in club events.
8. Disrupted club meetings more than 3 times.
9. Failed to respect their fellow club memebers.
10. Has been put to I.S.S more than twice in a semester.
11. Is suspended.
*The re-instating of the person will be consiered and discussed among officials and memebers of the club only if the student has shown good behavior, has not had any trouble in school and wishes to return to the club.
F) Elections: The elections of the officers will be decided umong Libray Club memebers and the Librarian.
1. Every person who wants to become officer will have to estate a statement of why she/he is aligible for the position.
2. The memebers of the club will vote and decide within the firts or second meetings.
3. For any who oppose a person for being an officer will be talked with privatly as to why theier reasons.
4. If the officer is unable to meet the requirements of their posostions or has been removed from the club for any
reason, the club shall have to re-vote for the position to be filled.
*If the person wishes to regain his/her postion, the Library Club memebers must accept the request and decide
wether in agreement wether to re-instate the person or not.
G) Constitution Retification
Every year the constitution will be re-made if memebers don't agree with the originial or current constitution.
Members of the Library Club are obligated to see to it that the constituion is followed and looked over once every semester. If
someone would like to make a change to the constitution, she/her is to talk it over with the officers and convice the memebers of
the club of this change before it is made. The Library Club Constution is to be effective throughout the whole year and be kept
for any new members who did not get the chance to see it before.
